What was the highlight of Pyramisa Island Hotel

Friendly, service-minded staff, hotel has some room for improvement but all in all value for money.

Breakfast was unfortunately not impressive, the first two days very disappointing but the last day was ok when the restaurant opened and there was an egg station.

The gym did not open before 9am and the doors made alot of noise and therefor would easily wake up people during the night or in the early morning.

Fabulous setting on a private island, with a free ferry service.

Location, location and location! What more could you ask for than a private island? The free ferry ride to the centre was really a treat. Excellent breakfast. Spacious room. Quite good dinner buffet with friendly waiter.

Pyramisa deserves a 10 for their efforts to upgrade the hotel - and in particular the lady sitting at the guest services desk in the lobby - but the initial impressions at check-in weren't overly positive; with unprofessional and impolite service.

1. rooms need renovation, patio chairs were not in good condition. 2. we requested for packed breakfast, water bottle was not given, upon asking, we have to shuttle between reception and breakfast counter and finally denied saying it can be provided by room service. Has to go up all the way to the room and collect it. 3. Room service is very slow.

A quiet and peaceful hotel on an island

The river view from the balcony was amazing. I liked the restaurant dinner buffet as they had a wide selection and dishes were tasty. The souvenir shop owners in the hotel were super friendly, and the prices of goods were reasonable. A staff lady found my friend's lost bracelet and returned it to her, very kind.

The room was too bright in the morning even with all curtains closed. Wifi was weak. A wrong bill was added to my room when I checked out. The signature didn't belong to me and showed a different name but the staff wasn't fully convinced. After some arguments, the hotel eventually didn't charge me but it has made the end of experience less nice.

infrastructure is a bit old but it looks like they started to renovate some of the rooms on the bottom floor so hopefully this will continue throughout the entire hotel!

Perfect for a one night stay

The staff was perfect, welcoming us and checking us in even in the early morning. The room was newly renovated, functional and clean (just minor suggestions: a few more plugs close to the bed and a couple bedside lights would make it perfect). The shuttle service to the East Bank and the city centre is running efficiently and the pier is conveniently located few minutes walking from the souqs.

The breakfast is average: acceptable for one overnight, but could be improved.

A fantastic option for your stay in Aswan.

A lovely experience with friendly, professional and attentive staff, all of whom could not have done anything more for us. The hotel is on an island in the Nile with views of the Old Cataract Hotel, Elephantine Island and the desert. Our own view was spectacular taking in the beautifully maintained gardens, the island across the Nile with its fields, buffalo, palm trees, desert and, on the far bank, the mausoleum to the Aga Khan. The hotel has two swimming pools (we used both) and they were both good with excellent service for drinks and towels, etc. There are shops on site. I am happy to say there is no heavy selling. The spa offers a range of massages. they are not what I would call "cheap"exactly but, again, they were excellent. The breakfast was varied and delicious and with the ever attentive service. We ate dinner in the attractively presented a la carte restaurant and the food was good (as, of course, was the service) and all at a very reasonable price. There is a courtesy, 24 hour private hotel ferry that crosses the Nile every 10 minutes which is excellent for seeing the old cataract up close and the ruins on Elephantine Island. We will definitely be staying here on our next trip to Aswan. The location, service and quality of the hotel are all truly excellent.

There really was nothing we disliked about our stay. In fact, we cannot wait to come back.

Staff members are very kind and helpful. The Nile view from the room was exceptional.

Connected rooms are limited. We have stayed at two separate rooms as one family. Refrigerators are very old.

good enough for us

you arrive by boat to the hotel on the island and it's quite an impressive site. once inside, the rooms are spacious, with a nice terrace, decent pools and breakfast for me was good (fresh omelette and lots of salad options). the staff are friendly and attentive.

it needs to be updated. TV is ancient, WiFi we had to ask multiple times as it kept expiring, the room itself needs to be refurbished...mattress and pillow was way too soft for me and just a bit grimey in general. has tonnes of potential just maybe stuck in time a little bit. the fake grass hanging from ceiling needs to go! the boat rides to the hotel are nice but you have to rely on them to go to restaurants and go to the meeting points for the tours. if I was travelling alone and paying one room it would not be good value for money, but as a duo it was fine.

So so.

My arrival was anything else than friendly. Bunch of girls in the reception chatted among themselves totally ignoring me. I needed to call their attention finally to serve all of us who we waited. After long time waiting they brought welcome drink. After a while later other stuff in the reception was helpful. Nowadays many people are intolerant for dairy products and they didn’t have any other choices. Food was tastless. Only what was good were pastries. WiFi forget. Either it doesn’t work or is painfully slow. Bed and pillows feels like a stone. As I was getting better room thank to Cristina my stay was nice. As at least my room was renovated and had a nice view. Previous 4 shown other rooms were horrible. In the room I didn’t have any long mirror. Hotel is located on the island what makes it quiet and getting to the mainland takes about 10-15min. However hotel needs a lot of improvement to call itself 5*. When you do day trips organise it outside as the price in the hotel is ridiculous.

Exceptional

The hotel is absolutely beautiful and the staff goes above and beyond to ensure you have a great stay! Iman made us an incredible coffee that we cannot wait to have again. Christine, the property manager, was incredible! She helped us check in early, ensured everything was set up for us and made sure we always had everything we needed! We originally thought this was a one-time trip to Aswan, but now we cannot wait to go back and this will definitely be where we stay again!

Beautiful hotel a nice restaurant

Very wonderful hotel on an island with boat service 24 hours a day to and from Aswan. The hotel have a lot of nice spots around the island with nice terraces, pools and chill out spots were you can order drinks and food from the bar. You can have nice breakfast and dinner in the restaurant they offer open buffet with a lot of different food both international and egyptian. We loved the staff at the reception, bar and restaurant.

The guest relations manager seemingly tried to pressure us into giving the hotel a 10 out of 10 review. As we had two different bookings with a day out of the city in between, she managed to talk us into rating the hotel 10 out of 10 the first time, but the second time around we insisted that we wanted to make a review ourselves. This behavior does not suit a hotel that prides it self in beeing a five star hotel. Measured up against european standards, this is not a five star hotel.

I won’t return here

The staff was nice and the room clean

the location not much, it’s on an island and each time you have to leave the hotel you have to take a little boat. Sometime you wait for 15 minutes under the sun. Also there is o my one restaurant open at night and the stuff at restaurant at night was rude and the food terrible. The forts nigh to orders a meat plate and it arrived after 30 minutes and the meat was cold, no one came to check on me and if I liked the food and when the waiter took back the plate, basically almost intact didn’t even bother to ask why I didn’t eat it.
